Removing "Hacked By Godzilla" Virus

A few days back I noticed a new message in title bar of my Internet Explorer as "Hacked By Godzilla". Obviously it caused some concern as it means my computer was attacked by something that is, if not malicious, at least unwanted.

Apart from appearing in title bar of Internet Explorer, it may also prevent you from opening a drive by double clicking on it. However, you may open the drive using "Open" option of context menu (which you get with right click). I think I noticed something of this sort in one of the computers in my Lab.

I searched for a solution using google.com and found the following URL - http://howto.redcomputer.net/windows/hacked_by_godzilla.php.

It is listing out the steps you have to take (quite a lot) to get rid off this virus.

I have applied these steps they seem to work at least for now. I got rid of the message from title bar of Internet Explorer.

So give a try if your browser/system is also "Hacked by Godzilla".

Srikanth.
