To Certify or Not to Certify

I have read an interesting blog by Paul Sorensen - Directory, Oracle Certification. I want all those who are interested in taking certification exams to read this blog.

Being a certified professional, I total agree with his blog. Yes, it is about the preparation, learning, and professional satisfaction.

Many students tend to take professional certification as just an another exam. They look for braindumps (questions from previous exams) and other material, which will help them to get through. They aim to clear exam but NOT learn. But that is wrong way of approaching the entire process. Learning the technology should be of first priority. Otherwise certificate from Oracle, Sun or Microsoft could be just an another piece of paper which is akin to any certificate issued by any local or nation-wide training centre.
